2011 Coolest Gadgets: Waiting to be Tamed!

I’m sad that this awesome expandable caravan is not real (yet). It’s the only caravan I would consider towing with the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS I don’t have (yet). I imagine myself bringing it to the Valley of the Gods and waking up looking through that window.

Created by student Jakub Novák, the Odorico Pordenone—named after Italian medieval traveler Odoric of Pordenone—is not just a pie in the sky design project. The mechanics of its expandable architecture are solid engineering, not just a pretty rendering. It’s just waiting for some company to license it and put it into production.
